I am writing to you as a resident of Battersea, but also as a campaigns ambassador for Cancer Research UK representing the Battersea area, to ask for your support in our Cross Cancer Out Campaign for Cancer Research UK.

It is vital that we gain the support from the local media, businesses and residents to gain as much exposure as we can in the run up to the general election in May 2015.

Myself, Tina Manteufell and Dr Sarah Barnett represent Battersea as campaign ambassadors and together we want residents of Battersea to join the fight to Cross Cancer Out, supporting measures to improve early diagnosis and access to treatments for cancer patients.

We need their support to ensure the next Government put the following points at the top of their agendas: • Continued support for campaigns to raise public awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer; • A commitment to increase participation in the national bowel cancer screening programme; • Equal access to innovative radiotherapy, surgery and effective cancer drugs, including drugs targeted to patients’ tumours.

The public can show their support by emailing their candidates here – cancerresearchuk.org/supportus/ campaign-for-us/cross-cancerout.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
