The very first Little Free Library (LFL) in Wandsworth was set to open on May 5.
Part of a national initiative to promote reading, the pretty book sharing nook is set to be launched at Heathmere Primary School on the Alton estate by children’s author Gary Northfield.
“We want to do everything we can to increase access to books and promote a life of reading,”
said deputy head Ben Cooper.
“The Little Free Library is a great way for the children to share stories with one another.”
The LFL was built and decorated by charity Little Free Library Project with books set to be provided by charity Give a Book.
Look out for more Little Free Libraries around Wandsworth this summer, as the organisation is seeking more hosts across the borough.
