Setting a light to shine in the dark is a special way to remember someone you have loved and lost, or who cannot be with you at a notable time of year.

Families from Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark, Bromley and Croydon can show how much they care for someone by dedicating a light on the St Christopher's Hospice Remembrance Tree, which will be lit from 3 December 2006 until 6 January 2007at the Hospice in Lawrie Park Road, Sydenham.

Thousands of lights will adorn the giant tree, which has been donated by Ruxley Manor Garden Centre, Sidcup. They will be switched on at 4pm on Sunday December 3 during a Service of Dedication, with the singing of carols and seasonal songs. New lights may be dedicated at any time until January 6, 2007.

To dedicate a tree light to someone special to you, ring Belinda at St Christopher's Hospice 020 8768 4573 or visit the website stchristophers.org.uk to download a dedication form.

All those who have dedicated a light will receive a Remembrance card and will be invited to the dedication of the lights.
