Is there anyone who has memories, a story or even photographs that can be connected with the tragedy with the Wangle III in 1950? That is what mrs. Joyce Pool and mr. Pip Barnard from Texel (Holland), who are doing research on his matter, would like to know.

Hi I'm doing some research into WW2 Coastal Forces boats and have a photo of myself and my sister, Teresa, from about 1956 (I would have been about 7 and my sister 5 or 6) taken at Walton on Thames. My Uncle and Aunt ran an optician's in Bridge Street for many years (Hawes) and when visiting from our house in Northwood, Middlesex, a highlight would be a walk along the Thames footpath to see the various boats on the river! Does anyone have any recollection of the two Coastal Forces (or RAF?) boats in the background of the photo? They look like ex-British Powerboat Company MTBs/MGBs or Air-Sea Rescue launches. Names and what happened to them would be wonderful!

I am looking to contact the family of Sergeant Ronald C Wood (POW) who took part in a raid over Germany on 4th November 1944 in a Halifax bomber. He lived at 516 Kingston Road, Raynes Park, London when he returned from Germany in 1944 and wrote to the families of the crew who had lost their lives. Five of the seven crew, mostly on their 1st mission including my cousin who was just 2 weeks off his 21st birthday, were killed that night. In 2013, I made touch with 3 of the other families and would like to make contact with the Wood family as it will be the 70th anniversary of the tragic event in November. If you have any information on the Wood family, please write to me, Sally Corps, at 15 Conway Close, Loudwater, High Wycombe, HP10 9TR or contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org. I believe Ron Wood had 3 or 4 daughters. Thank you.

I wondered if anybody has any memories of Diana Dors visiting Wimbledon during her life and career – either at a fete or event in the suburb itself or at the great Wimbledon tennis championships one year?

I am trying to find a group of friends who were members of Steadfast during the 1950s 1960s in the hope that we may be able to arrange a meeting during the Steadfast centenary year. We were all cadet instructors and all had our 21st birthdays in 1963. Names I am particularly looking for are: Jimmy Lock, Geoff Bott, John Cross, Dave Drakeford, John Dickinson, Alan Howe, John Hawkins. If any of these are around or if anybody knows their whereabouts I would very much like to hear from them.
