Following my review of the Star Wars: Identities at the 02 back in May 2017. I am pleased to announce another fantastic event that you must not miss!

The DC: Dawn of Super Heroes’ Exhibition at the 02.

This exhibition had rave reviews on the back of a successful run in Paris (At the Art Ludique-Le Musée) and will transfer to the 02 in London from February 23, 2018. So not long to wait.

Whether you are in the Marvel camp, or both DC and Marvel fans alike, this show has something for everyone.

Wandsworth Times:
Batman & Catwoman
Most of us have grown up with the DC comics featuring Batman, Catwoman, The Joker, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and many others. As well as reading the comic books we also followed their antics on TV and on to the big screen.
Wandsworth Times:

That’s not to say that more recent characters aren’t featured. DC villain, Harley Quinn (played by Margot Robbie in the 2016 Suicide Squad Movie) didn’t appear in the comic books until August 3, 1993 and the character has her own display case at the exhibition. She has now become one of DC’s core characters and is now a popular ‘Fancy Dress’ outfit, favoured by many young women. You can usually see half a dozen Harley’s working the comic cons. Let’s face it Guys…It’s such a really cool outfit and she gets to blow gum and carry a baseball bat!

This exhibition caters for all DC media. You will find more than 200 original comic book covers and over 300 preliminary concept artworks and sketches used for the cinema designs.

You will marvel (sorry for the pun!) at the plethora of original costumes, models and movie props used in these icon Movies.

Some of the costumes on display were used in the following action films:

The Tim Burton ‘Batman’ (1989), ‘Batman Returns’(1992) / Joel Schumacher’s ‘Batman Forever’ (1995), ‘Batman and Robin’ (1997). Plus the acclaimed ‘Dark Knight Trilogy’ from Director Christopher Nolan. There are even the most up to date original costumes from the more recent Superman ‘Man of Steel’ (2013), ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ (2016) and the ‘Justice League’ (2017).
Wandsworth Times:

Talking of Superman, it would not be right if they didn’t include the original Superman costumes worn by the late Christopher Reeves, who really kick started the Superhero Movies way back in 1978, with the cinema version of ‘Superman’, where we were introduced to the tagline “You’ll Believe a Man Can Fly!”.

We are also lucky to have the original Linda Carter Wonder Woman costumes from the TV series which ran from 1975 to 1979.

But more exciting are the outfits from the 2017 ‘Wonder Woman’ movie starring Gal Gadot, which hit new box office records for a DC film. Alongside the costumes you will find exclusive artworks created by director of the film Patty Jenkins.
