Something people love more than a good Wetherspoons is a review of the place afterwards.

And where better to make your voice heard than in the comments section on Tripadvisor.

Wetherspoons has grown into a national icon, boasting more than 900 pubs across the country.

But here are the 18 'Spoons' pubs across SE London and North Kent, ranked in order of best to worst as voted by the customers themselves.

This is a list of all of them starting with the best reviews according to TripAdvisor reviewers when we combine 'excellent' and 'very good' reviews.

Wandsworth Times:

1. The Brockley Barge in Brockley – 84 per cent

“This is hand downs the best spoons in London, attentive and friendly staff, quick and efficient service and a great beer garden- special shout out to Amber who made our visit particularly enjoyable.”

“This is a nice friendly pub serving food. However the inside does need a little TLC. The food is of the normal standard for a Witherspoon chain no fancy foods just good old pub grub.”

Wandsworth Times:

2. The London and Rye in Catford – 82 per cent

“Great food and drinks.

Nice staff who serve WOMEN as well as men ( I do hate it when bar staff serve all the men first regardless of the fact that I've been waiting 20 minutes or so )

Tables clean, nice atmosphere as well. Great !!”

“We ordered the food and drink from the table on a phone app and the service was reasonably good. There were no surprises food-wise, it did what the menu said. The eating took a bit of effort. My vegetable burger was dry and with the bun made it hard going. The chicken burger was also apparently on the dry side. Fortunately we had the pint with burger offer to help wash it all down. Nice sized place with plenty of tables to choose from.”

Wandsworth Times:

3. The Edmund Halley in Lee Green – 76 per cent

“A good Wetherspoon pub where drink is of a price you can afford. Nice environment inside and a small outside seating area for a warm evening. Staff friendly.”

“Great Weatherspoon’s good beer and informative staff who explained products. Quiet enough to talk. Toilets were a long walk.”

Wandsworth Times:

4. The Tailor’s Chalk in Sidcup – 74 per cent

“The pub is always busy and a popular place to eat. The food is tasty and always served with a smile. Can’t complain about the prices. Would recommend the meal deals.”

“Visited with my wife for breakfast.waitress was not interested my wife's food incorrect. With the observed behaviour of the waitress (She was dressed differently than others) didn't bother to complain just eat it. Food was cold. Coffee not topped up. Cup was taken from display by putting fingers in cup rather than outside. Every where else I have had a meal in Wetherspoons I have been happy to go back. My first and last visit here.”

Wandsworth Times:

5. The Wrong ‘Un in Bexleyheath – 72 per cent

“Another good , well run Wetherspoons. The alcoves along the right hand side are good for privacy and help to give it a better atmosphere than most other Wetherspoons I have been to. The food and drink prices are the usual good value and standards I have come to expect from Wetherspoons. The staff are quick and efficient. Very good overall.”

“We eat in this pub most weeks and normally the food is very good for the price, but for some reason on a Saturday or Sunday night the food is very poor. This has happened on more than one occasion resulting in the food being returned. The chefs on a weekend can’t seem to cook a simple meal when there are fewer meals being ordered.”

Wandsworth Times:

6. The Banker’s Draft in Eltham – 69 per cent

“This little pub used to be a bank, now a Wetherspoons. It’s very small inside but we found a table during a Friday lunch time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Well worth a visit.”

“Absolutely shocking food, will never eat there again, The gammon was like rubber and the eggs all dried up and the chips came cold, When i challenged the staff about the poor service they blamed the shift change, Certainly will not be eating here again.”

Wandsworth Times:

7. The Sovereign of the Seas in Petts Wood – 68 per cent

“Visited this pub as part of a small group of friends. Typically for a Wetherspoons drinks were good value, particularly 3 bottles of alcohol free beer for £5. Good lively atmosphere.”

“Went for breakfast with my mum, she went up and ordered our breakfasts (and drinks), but only hers arrived. She had to go up and order it again which meant a wait so we ended up eating separately. As they were ordered at a different time, we also missed out on the drink deal purely because the order wasn't taken properly. Quite disappointing overall.”

Wandsworth Times:

8. The Moon and Stars in Penge – 67 per cent

“Been so many times for drinks and today we ate bbq chicken and dessert.was pancakes.food was good.service excellent.toilets clean .clean in dining area..food was hot really like the plates and dessert bowl.please can you tell me where you buy the?.”

“Our first visit. The usual group of older drinkers near the door to pop out and smoke but they weren't too loud.

As per any Wetherspoons, good value for money and food quick to arrive.

Getting a bit disappointed that the only fish available is deep fried (appreciate it's not this branch's fault) and only 2 salads on the menu. Shame.”

Wandsworth Times:

9. The Postal Order in Crystal Palace – 60 per cent

“This is a great pub to come to for a few beers or something quick to eat. Friendly, attentive staff who do a great job taking your order, even when it's busy!”

“Walked in on a Saturday night, surprisingly quite quiet but absolutely stunk of vomit. Won’t be returning”

Wandsworth Times:

10. The Furze Wren in Bexleyheath – 60 per cent

“Got together with a few mates for a drink and something to eat, wasn’t overcrowded in there as it was Sunday so plenty of seating room, bar staff friendly, food was great, good choice and good value, didn’t have to wait long either, enjoyable evening and the good food made it worth the effort. Will go again with the family.”

“Awful Wetherspoons never visit here again dirty dull uncomfortable seating also very tight with their salad in the Burger's I had 3 tiny onions in mine was it worth it”

Wandsworth Times:

11. The Harvest Moon in Orpington – 60 per cent

“Fantastic evening at The Harvest Moon, we were a group of 16 from the local hospice with many different requirements and the staff were amazing in making sure everything was possible. The kitchen staff were fab in ensuring all the food came out together and the bar staff were also very polite and helpful. We will 100% be returning again. Thank you”

“Horrible place , staff are extremely rude , won’t ever be going back there again , place needs better staff and better food.”

Wandsworth Times:

12. The Great Harry in Woolwich – 60 per cent

“We stayed locally for a few days as we were attending an event at the O2. We came in for lunch every day and found the staff very friendly and the food and service very good. In particular Leah and Billie were great.”

“It's fine. Standard menu and decor, pretty cheap, food comes quickly and drinks are reasonable. It can get pretty busy and sometimes the sport on the TVs is a bit loud but otherwise it's fine.”

Wandsworth Times:

13. The Gate Clock in Greenwich – 57 per cent

“Great location for this Wetherspoons - right outside Cutty Sark tube station. Food average but very friendly staff made us feel welcome.”

“The Gate Clock is located right outside of Greenwich Tube and is best avoided as a pub. Although it is cheap, the food we ordered was of poor quality and took a while to come. The interior is drab as well although is large enough for big groups. Only come here if price is your only concern.”

Wandsworth Times:

14. The Flying Boat in Dartford – 57 per cent

“We always try to visit this pub when in Dartford as the food is always excellent and the service is always good. It is also housed in a very historic building and with all Weatherspoons the conversation to the building was done with care.”

“Typical weather spoons pub. Food always been ok, no issues. Big pub with large garden area but not really for kids. Drink can sometimes take a while to get and smells a little but cheap and cheerful and nice place to start the night as no music so you can talk.”

Wandsworth Times:

15. The Greyhound in Bromley – 56 per cent

“I visited the Greyhound for an evening meal as I was staying in Bromley for work purposes. A large pub, very bright and welcoming. Lovely meal and served quickly. Good service.”

“Visited here with friends for food and drinks. The chicken burger was dry, the mixed grill was the worst mixed grill I’d ever seen burnt, mostly a plate full of gammon. The 14oz steak was chewy and not cooked rare as requested. The staff did not seem to care, too busy chatting. No one cleared plates away. Used to come here a lot, won’t be now, standards definitely have gone down hill!”

Wandsworth Times:

16. The Capitol in Forest Hill – 52 per cent

“This old cinema is now a Wetherspoon's pub, with fabulous Art Deco style bar where the screen was. Great atmosphere and the usual excellent choice of ales.”

“Decent range of beers and lower prices but that's where it ends. It's a cool venue but it's so blunted and dulled by the depressing atmosphere and tired regimentally ordered furniture that you just want to down your drink and get the hell out! It would a decent mid-sized music venue!”

Wandsworth Times:

17. The Richmal Crompton in Bromley – 51 per cent

“Visited the pub before travelling for a football game. As most Wetherspoons pubs it’s a good size, with a good selection of beers and food.”

“I have visited this pub many times, about five weeks ago I needed to use the gents, I noted a member of kitchen staff failed to wash his hands after using this toilet, I emailed Wetherspoons and reported it, but as yet they have not responded.”

Wandsworth Times:

18. The Watch House in Lewisham – 40 per cent

“I visited the watch house for the first time today and I believe it was great, not that I remember much.”

“I never feel particularly welcome when I come. The past year has been the same staff pretty much. Often I will go to the bar and should be next to serve but a regular will come up and you get ignored or the bar staff will be chatting to there friends who come along and ignore you. Sometimes they are just chatting amongst themselves behind the bar. Point is, if your not a friend or known to the bar staff, don't expect a good service.”
