X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini looks on track to claim her fifth number one single this weekend with new track I Don’t Care to set a new chart record.

The singer will shrug off claims that she mimed the track on Sunday’s X Factor by debuting at the top of the singles chart, according to midweek sales predictions from the Official Charts Company.

The track – which has had to be edited for radio play because of its prominent strong language – has sold more than 49,000 copies before today.

Chart bosses say she will become the first solo British singer to notch up five number ones, while Rita Ora and Geri Halliwell have four each.

Calvin Harris looks on course to go to number one in the album charts with his fourth album Motion.

It will be his third chart-topping album, and is just ahead of the sales for Ed Sheeran’s X by a narrow margin of a little over 1,000 copies.
