Television presenter Katie Piper has thanked fans for their support after she was admitted to hospital following complications from surgery linked to the acid attack she suffered.
Piper, who was was badly scarred and left blind in one eye in an assault arranged by her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Lynch, in 2008, told the Mirror she had lost a stone after the surgery to remove scar tissue from her throat resulted in a painful torn oesophagus.
She posted a message on Twitter today thanking her fans for their support.
The illness forced the former model, 31, to cancel an event to promote her autobiography Beautiful Ever After in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, on Thursday.
She posted messages on the social network apologising.
Piper has undergone more than 100 operations to rebuild her face after she was disfigured. She gave birth to a daughter, Belle, last March.
Her fans reached out to her on Twitter.
