Jennifer Lawrence may be the star of The Hunger Games, but she certainly won’t be going hungry after being named the best paid actress in the world.
The 25-year-old actress topped Forbes’ list of The World’s Highest Paid Actresses 2015 after raking in an estimated £33 million in pre-tax income in the last year.
Not only has Oscar-winner J-Law earned more than fellow actresses including Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep, but she has earned more than all the actors on Forbes’ Highest Paid Actors 2015 list, except for reigning number one Robert Downey Jr who is though to have earned over £50 million from the Marvel movies.
Robert’s Avengers co-star Scarlett Johansson followed J-Law in second place with estimated earnings of £22.6 million in the last 12 months and funnywoman Melissa McCarthy was third with £14.6 million.
Chinese actress Bingbing Fan – who played Blink in X-Men: Days Of Future Past – made an impressive entrance to the list in fourth place with £13 million and Ted 2 star Amanda Seyfried was the only other newcomer on the list at number 11 with £5 million.
Reese Witherspoon, Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow were among some of the established stars who managed to stay in the top 18 and Twilight star Kristen Stewart was still in the top 10 with £7.6 million.
Despite earning a combined £179 million between June 2014 and June 2015, the world’s 18 highest paid actresses still made less than a third of what the world’s 34 highest paid actors were paid for the same period.
