Eddie Redmayne’s transformation into magizoologist Newt Scamander in the new Harry Potter spin-off has been unveiled.
The Oscar-winning actor plays the lead role in the big-screen adaptation of JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, based on Harry Potter’s encyclopaedia text book of magical beasts.
In a fetching blue wool coat and a tweed suit, with a briefcase in hand, Eddie’s character Newt stands inside the entrance of the majestic art deco-influenced Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA), as featured on the front cover of Entertainment Weekly.
The film, which Rowling has written the screenplay for, sees Newt embarking on an adventure in 1926 New York and is set 70 years prior to the Potter films.
Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, Ron Perlman and Jon Voight, along with Steve Jobs actress Katherine Waterston, also star in Fantastic Beasts.
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, directed by Harry Potter’s David Yates, will be released in UK cinemas on November 18, 2016.
