AN X FACTOR star's dreams are set to get even bigger in Rhyl next month.

Jaymi Hensley, a member of season nine boyband Union J, will take on the lead role in Bill Kenwright’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in his first role in a major musical at the Pavilion for four glittering nights from Tuesday, March 26.

Having risen to fame on The X Factor, Union J went on to have a top ten album and a major UK tour, while Jaymi went on to win over audiences once again on a number of hit TV shows, including BBC One's Celebrity Masterchef.

This year, Hensley appeared on the fourth series of Celebrity Coach Trip, where he was reunited once again with fellow Union J star JJ Hamblett.

Having made his panto debut in the lead role in Peter Pan at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings in 2016, Hensley has also added acting to his repertoire, guaranteeing a spellibinding turn in the lead role.

Hensley said: "I cannot describe how excited and honoured I am to be stepping into the prestigious coloured coat!

"When I think of iconic roles in musical theatre Joseph was always one tat I dreamt of playing growing up! To finally say that I am going to play it is a “dream” come true!

"I cannot wait to meet all of the loyal Joseph fans and bring you my take of this amazing dream role."

Retelling the biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colours, this sparkling family musical embarks is the first of lyricist Tim Rice and musical maestro Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musicals together.
