The hit ITV series Paul O’Grady: For The Love Of Dogs filmed at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has been shortlisted for a Bafta Award.

The Bafta nomination for the seven part series follows National Television Award success in January for Best Factual Entertainment, and is further recognition of the show’s national appeal.

Around eight million viewers watched the series last autumn and enjoyed the heart-warming stories of Battersea dogs getting a second chance in life after being abandoned or given up by owners who could no longer care for them.

ITV are currently filming a second series of Paul O'Grady: For The Love of Dogs at  Battersea for broadcast later this year.

The other three Bafta features nominations went to Bank Of Dave, Grand Designs and The Great British Bake Off.

The winners will be announced at a televised ceremony on Sunday, May 12.
