Earlier this evening I had the embarrassing experience of taking an elderly and lost Chinese couple to Wandsworth Town Station.
We walked along my weed covered street with missing and broken paving stones.
Going through Wandsworth Bridge roundabout, we walked past rubbish, which has been there for months, and over more broken paving stones - fortunately it was dry so we didn't get the usual spout of water up the trouser leg.
On the other side of the roundabout, we see the money being spent on Old York Road.
A clear indication for our Chinese visitors that we have third world conditions in some parts of the borough and money to waste in others.
