I refer to your front page article 'Community group calls for commons conservators' resignation'.
Please allow me to point out once again that no land at Putney Lower Common, nor indeed anywhere else on the Commons, has ever been, or is about to be, sold off by the conservators, save by order of the court.
Indeed, for the Putney Hospital site the contrary is the case.
If the proposed development for the new primary school goes ahead, the amount of common land, i.e., land owned by the conservators, will be significantly greater than when the hospital was closed down.
I would be pleased to meet anyone interested and show them the plans proving this to be the case.
David Devons; Chairman, Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators
