As a resident of Tooting Bec and a regular at The Wheatsheaf pub, I read last week’s story in the Wandsworth Guardian about the future of The Wheatsheaf being secured with great relief.
Not only have Tesco said they are not taking it over, but the owners of the property have said they're not going to sell.
It has been good to see our community coming together to save our pub - and I have been especially impressed by the efforts of our MP, Sadiq Khan - who has clearly gone to great lengths to save our pub - even though he's a practising Muslim and is currently fasting for Ramadan.
That is what I call representing your constituents.
Hats off to you Mr Khan.
