A pub was left damaged after fire broke out in the ground floor.
Firefighters were called to The Peacock, in Falcon Road, Battersea, just before 2pm yesterday afternoon.
They were alerted to the fire when some members of the public ran into the fire station, located around the corner from the pub.
The fire tore through materials in the ground floor, which meant thick black smoke could be seen billowing from the building.
It took about two hours to put out using six pumps and breathing apparatus.
Buses and traffic were affected for a few hours after the blaze.
Thirty per cent of the pub was left damaged and nobody required hospital treatment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said: "There was a lot of thick black smoke across Falcon Road.
"It took a while for us to put it out because there was that much smoke."
