Battersea Dogs and Cats Home has received £25,000 in funding from the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The charity receives no Government funding and relies on support to care for about 9,000 lost, abandoned, and unwanted dogs and cats every year.
Liz Tait, Battersea’s director of fundraising, said: "It costs Battersea £18.4m to care for its dogs and cats every year, so we are thrilled to have received this wonderful support."
