A brass band with members as young as seven is preparing for their first concert abroad.
Funded by Club Europe, a school travel company based in Balham, Southwark Children's Brass Band (SCBB) is heading to Disneyland Paris to perform.
Head of concert tours Lucy Szymonski said: "It's been a real privilege to be involved in such a lovely project and I hope this tour will be a great platform for SCBB to showcase their talent to new audiences."
The charity aims to give underprivileged children experience of art, music and culture and has grown to about 50 to 60 players from a range of social backgrounds, aged between seven and 14.
Ruby Shaer-Carter, 13, a trumpeter, said: "It's a really fun way to learn an instrument and make new friends. I'm really excited about the tour, we get to play at Disneyland and I think it's a good experience for learning in later life."
Peace Mburu, 13, plays the baritone horn, said: "The tour has given us new energy and a new vibe. It's refreshing learning new pieces, broadening our horizons."
