Businesses from the borough could come home winners from a capital-wide awards ceremony.

The shortlist for the Federation of Small Business London Business Awards has been released, with Putney and Balham businesses included.

London Grace, Putney, is up for best new business and First Aid for Life, Balham, could scoop a business innovation award.

Steve Warwick, London regional chairman of the Federation of Small Business (FSB), said: "Huge congratulations must go to all of the finalists that have made it through to the awards night.

"The shortlist comprises of a wide spectrum of business types which showcases the vibrancy and diversity of the London small business community. We hope this opportunity acts as a stepping stone for the businesses to build on their marketing potential."

The final will be at the Pullman Hotel, St Pancras, on Thursday, July 30.
