Southbank cyclists will be able to swap places with lorry drivers, as part of an event to raise awareness of the dangers of vehicle blind spots.
Cyclists travelling through Nine Elms will be invited into the lorry cab to see how invisible they can be to drivers when cycling within the lorry’s blind spots.
The first event took place last week with further dates set for Monday July 11, Tuesday, August 9, Tuesday, September 6, Tuesday, October 4, and Tuesday, November 22.
Locations are set to be released to be released closer to the dates.
The Nine Elms site is in the middle of major regenerations leading to a large number of HGV’s in the area.
Wandsworth Council leader and co-chairman of the Nine Elms Vauxhall Partnership Ravi Govindia said: "The changes taking place across Nine Elms are extremely exciting but constructing a new neighbourhood involves a lot of HGVs.
"That’s why it is imperative that both drivers and cyclists are fully aware of all the dangers. We very much welcome these cycle safety initiatives and I hope as many people as possible will take advantage of them."
