An investigation is under way after a woman claimed she was robbed on a train from Mitcham Junction to Clapham Junction on Wednesday morning.
British Transport Police are investigating reports that a woman was mugged at about 10am on August 3 on the train by a man.
A spokesman said: "Officers from BTP were alerted at 10.16am yesterday to a robbery on board a train at Mitcham station.
"The victim was on the train heading towards Clapham Junction when she was approached by a man.
"Officers have since launched an investigation which will involve speaking with witnesses and seizing CCTV images."
