Twickenham’s firefighters will welcome families inside the fire station for an open day to celebrate the London Fire Brigade’s 150th anniversary.
The station, in South Road, opens its doors from 11am until 4pm on Sunday, September 4, and children who are fascinated with the work of a firefighter can clamber into the driver’s seat and pretend they are off to fight a blaze.
The budding young firefighters can also try on firefighter’s helmets and will be treated to a demonstration showing how they respond to emergency situations.
Members of the Metropolitan Police, the London Ambulance Service, RNLI and Royal Parks team will also attend to discuss how they support the brigade.
