It is Diabetes awareness week from 11-17 June.

Diabetes UK’s theme for this year is ‘Know Diabetes, Fight Diabetes.

Central London Community Healthcare Trust’s Barnet specialist diabetes team will be at Brent Cross Shopping Centre, ground floor on 12th June between 10.00am – 5:30pm where we will be raising awareness about diabetes.

This event is being held in partnership with Barnet Councillor Caroline Stock and the Public Health team.

The day will include screening for people at risk of developing diabetes and those identified as high risk, will be offered an HbA1c blood test (a small finger prick test) and a copy of the test result will be given to the person who can then take it to their GP for a follow-up. Between 11.30am-12 noon, the public is invited to meet the team and ask questions about diabetes and how to prevent the disease.
