A footballer from Wandsworth has sent his best wishes to ex-footballer Ray Wilkins, who is currently in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Steve Sidwell, who plays for Brighton and Hove Albion, tweeted: “Be strong fella and pull through this. Thoughts to you and the family Ray.”

Ray Wilkins MBE, 61, has been placed in an induced coma at St George's Hospital, Tooting.

During his career Wilkins played for clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United and Queens Park Rangers and more recently has worked as a coach and television pundit.
