A building in Roehampton has been shortlisted for this year’s RIBA London Awards 2018.

Elm Grove Conference Centre, which is based in the University of Roehampton, is amongst the 93 buildings which have been shortlisted for this year’s award.

The centre opened in September 2016 and has enhanced the experience of guests attending events and academic conferences.

It provides guests with a state of the art conference centre which has 140 seat spaces, break out spaces, catering facilities and a roof terrace overlooking views above the tree canopy which looks towards Central London.

For 50 years, the RIBA Awards and prizes have celebrated the best architecture in the UK and for Elm Grove to be shortlisted is exciting for Roehampton Venues and for the University of Roehampton.

All of the shortlisted buildings will be assessed by a regional jury and the winning buildings are to be announced at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 15.

The Regional Award winners will be considered for a RIBA National Award to recognise their architectural excellence and the results will be announced in June.

The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize, which is the award for the best new building of the year, will be decided from the RIBA National Award-winning buildings in July and the Stirling Prize winner will be announced in October.
