London Fire Brigade (LFB) has issued a warning after three children were rescued from a flat fire in Forest Hill with no working smoke alarms.
Four engines and 21 firefighters were called to Sunderland Road on April 16 and rescued the children from the second floor.
London Ambulance treated them at the scene and took them to hospital as a precaution.
One adult had escaped the fire before LFB came.
Station manager Clinton Walsh, who was at the scene, said: “There were no working smoke alarms in the property.
“Everyone should have multiple smoke alarms fitted in their property and have a heat alarm in the kitchen to give the earliest warning if there is a fire in your home."
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, after a heater set fire to clothes on an airer.
Firefighters from Forest Hill, Lewisham, Beckenham, and West Norwood fire stations attended the blaze, which began at 11.20am and was under control just after midday.
