Egyptian goose goslings have been spotted in Hampton Court Park.

Sue Lindenberg, who captured the amazing sight by the Long Water in Home Park on April 15, said it was the first time she has seen the geese this year.

She said: “Last year, on this day, I saw 11 in the same place, and in 2016 on April 15 I saw 13.”

The Egyptian goose is a native of sub-tropical Africa and was brought to Britain in the late 17th century as an ornamental bird for the lakes of country gentlemen.

After struggling to acclimatise to Britain’s cold winters for more than 300, the species is currently undergoing a population explosion, which experts believe is down to climate change.
