An annual street party in Wandsworth is returning for its ninth year.

The Old York Road Unplugged street party will provide a family fun day for residents and showcase the roads selection of independent businesses.

The event, led by Wandsworth Town BID, will be from 12pm till 6pm on Sunday, June 3.

Bars, restaurants and cafes on the street will be serving a range of food and drink throughout the day, with many to bring their food out onto the street, including real cask ales from The Alma pub.

The day will be attended by local community groups, live music will be performed and fundraising activities are being organised to raise money for Age UK Wandsworth.

There is enough to keep children entertained, with attractions including a carousel ride, the sweeper from total wipe out plus 40 stalls selling an array of arts, crafts, jewellery and clothing.

The afternoon is being sponsored by The Alma, Mapleton Crescent SW18, and Southside Shopping Centre.

Mapleton Crescent SW18 will be running a competition to win a limited-edition bicycle with the winner announced on the day, as well as an opportunity to enjoy a glass of complimentary prosecco in their pop-up roof terrace.

On the day of the event Old York Road will be closed from 7am to 9pm from the junction with Morie Street to the junction with Homebase car park.

Residents who need to use their vehicles during this time can enter and exit the area via other adjoining roads. Barricades will be manned during the event and in the case of need the emergency services will be provided with access.
