Children from a Wandsworth swim school have learnt how to swim in their favourite pyjamas.
Young swimmers from Puddle Ducks South West London have taken part in PJ Week, where they learnt how to swim, while wearing their pyjamas.
The swim school organised the week-long event from Monday, May 21 till Sunday, May 27 to coincide with this year’s Drowning Prevention Week campaign in June.
PJ week promoted swimming confidence and encouraged children to learn to swim, which is a life skill vital to have if ever in danger.
Cathy Weller, co-owner of Puddle Ducks South West London, said: “It was great to see so many of our little swimmers and their parents wearing their PJs and eager to learn. Our swimming programmes ensure that children are taught much needed safety and survival skills. Especially during the warmer weather, as children are more likely to be in and around water.”
Puddle Ducks provides swimming classes for children up to 10 years old in pools across Southfields, Balham, Tooting and Wandsworth.
