A baby carrier store has opened in Tooting following the success of their weekly pop ups.

Wear My Baby Boutique let customers into the store on Upper Tooting Road for the first time on Thursday, July 5.

The venture, which offers a full time service for families, was founded by Tooting resident Hannah Wallace.

Hannah Wallace, mother of two, said: “Babywearing is an amazing parenting tool. Baby carriers are not just practical. Carrying your baby close to you is fantastic for your child’s development. But with a bewildering choice of carriers available, it can be hard for parents to know which will suit them best.”

The store follows the team’s successful pop up store in Streatham, which has been open every Thursday for just under a year.

Hannah added: “Opening our own store is a huge step, as well as a shop, the Boutique offers a hiring service, in-store consultations with our expert team and, from the autumn, after-hours workshops for new and expectant parents. It’s so rare to be able to try out baby products before you buy, so we’re delighted to offer this service.”

Wear My Baby has worked within the community, supporting expectant parents with physical and sensory impairment to safely carry their babies at St George’s Hospital.

They also work with Little Village, a Wandsworth-based charity that collections donations of baby and children’s clothing and equipment for local families in need.

Owner Hannah has urged to donate their old carriers to the charity.

She said: "We’re asking people to bring to the Boutique good condition carriers which they no longer need, so we can pass them on to the Little Village team. It’s a great way to pass on the gift of babywearing from one family to another.”
