A pair of Wandsworth scouts have been selected to take part in a huge international event.
Christina Wright and Craig Hawes will represent the UK as part of a team during the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, USA next summer.
Ms Wright is hoping this can be an eye-opening journey.
“I’m hoping to use this experience to build awareness of international scouting and jamborees in my district, hopefully I can come back with my stories and show the younger people how great it all is," she said.
"I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new people and becoming involved in their scouting journeys.”
The event takes place once every four years and will bring together 45,000 scouts from across the world.
This won't be Mr Hawes's first rodeo, but nevertheless he hopes to gain some valuable insight to bring back to Wandsworth.
“This will be my third Jamboree," he said.
"I’m really interested in international relations, so I hope that I get to take part in the development village and host my own stall”.
