Students across Wandsworth celebrated outstanding GCSE results, despite the changes to the grading system.
Ark Bolingbroke Academy, Wandsworth praised their best performing students, 16-year-old twins Tanisha and Zayd Addicott.
Tanisha achieved 9 nines, 1 eight and Zayd achieved 8 nines, 2 eights - a combined 17 nines and 3 eights!
Southfields Academy students celebrated with a raft of 9s with two of their Year 11s with a clean sweep each. 70 percent 4+ with English & Mathematics & 41 percent 5+ English & Mathematics.
Students at Ernest Bevin College, Tooting celebrated a strong set of results and in particular a big increase in the number of students achieving the higher grades, 7, 8 or 9 in the newly reformed examinations.
In Computer Science 82% of the students achieved grade 7 or higher, 60% in Product Design, and 63% in Physics.
Students at Graveney School celebrated another strong set of GCSE results. 48 % of all grades were at 7 to 9. In English 84% of students achieved 5+ and 95 % 4+ and in Maths 84% achieved 5+ and 93% 4+
Students at Chestnut Grove Academy, Balham saw their biggest improvement at the top end with 28% of our entries graded 9-7 demonstrating that staff and students have responded well to the challenge of the new curriculum.
GCSE’s have gone under a lot of change in the last few years. Courses are now graded from 9 to 1, with 9 being the highest grade instead of A*.
