A sports festival will return to Roehampton this weekend as Wandsworth Council try to inspire residents to get active.

Get Active Roehampton Festival will be held on Saturday, September 1 between 2:00 pm and 7:00 on the Bull Green, Danebury Avenue, Roehampton.

Entry is free for all the family and the day will be filled with activities, taster sessions, advice tents, mascot runs, food and guest presenters.

Residents wanting to go just need to turn up. There will be an opportunity to chat to members of the Get Out Get Active Roehampton team and find out about activities on offer around the area.

People can also find out more about the regeneration of the Alton Area from developers Redrow.

The council’s sport and leisure spokesman Cllr Steffi Stutters said: “This is the last event in our successful Get Active Wandsworth Festival, which has toured the borough this summer getting as many people up and moving as possible.

“Get Active Roehampton is sure to be a fun and popular event, so bring the family down and join in.”

Activities include:

• Children’s inflatables

• Mini funfair

• Face painting

• Free child and adult health checks

• Fitness challenges

• Sports club area with a huge range of sports to try for free. Providers include Chelsea Football Foundation, Knights Community Gym and Putney and Roehampton Amateur Boxing Club
