An all female choir will be bringing their musical force to Battersea next month, after they announced their annual gigs.

Led by musical director, Jessie Maryon Davies, Lips will bring a wall of sound to the Clapham Grand on November 14-15. Club Classics: The Lips Remix expores the history of dance music in sweet harmony.

Lips Choir have just announced our big annual gigs for 2018 – Club Classics: The Lips Remix at Clapham Grand.

A non-auditioning choir for women, trans and non-binary folk, Lips are regulars on the seasonal choral gig scene, having had sold-out shows at The Coronet the last few years, and having performed at Bestival and Wilderness as well as the Royal Albert Hall.

Jessica Maryon Davies said: "With this gig, we’re going big on all areas of dance music. We want to bring the Lips sound to everything from Acid House to UK Garage and give props to those varied voices which created the all-time club classics everyone knows and loves. Being a choir, it’ll add a different twist - people aren’t used to hearing up-tempo club tunes sung in choral harmony.

"It’s a brand new set for us, which the choir have learnt just this year, and we’ll be performing with our amazing all-female band again. The Clapham Grand is the perfect setting for such a massive party too - I’m from Clapham myself and it’s such an iconic local venue. We can’t wait to perform there for the first time."

Club Classics: The Lips Remix is one of the choirs biggest gigs yet, with a six-piece all-female live band and special guests including four times UK beatboxing champion Grace Savage. Tickets are £15 (£8 for concessions) and the choir will also be raising money for WAST (Women Asylum Seekers Together). Tickets are available at buytickets.at/lipschoir.
