A teenage boy was reportedly robbed at knife-point in Abbey Wood prompting a concerned member of the public to phone the police.
Officers were called to Eynsham Drive just after 6pm on Wednesday (October 17) but the victim left before their arrival.
A spokesman for the Met said no arrests have been made and their enquiries continue.
The victim did not suffer any injuries that the police are aware of.
