Wandsworth parents spent an afternoon connecting with childcare providers in the area.

The event was organised by childcare platform Yoopies at Bertie & Boo on Northcote Road. The site has recently expanded to Wandsworth and allows parents to search and book trusted childminders.

The event was held following research by Yoopies which highlights a boom in demand for local nannies and childminders, as parents struggle to find nursery places.

The research also revealed that prices for in home childcare across London have increased by around 1 per cent in the last year to £9.48 per hour - in Wandsworth alone, the average cost is now £9.58 per hour.

The event aimed to help parents with their search for affordable and trusted childcare. Mums were invited to mingle with some of the top carers in the area over a drink and nibbles, whilst children were treated to a brilliant party complete with magic, music and a captivating puppet show.

Lisa Webster, a mum of two said: "I have a four-year-old and work full time, so I have found it really hard to find a full time nursery place. I need to find a nanny at the moment so it was a great way to meet some carers face to face and get to know them better - I am setting up a trial session with someone I met at the event so hopefully I will now be able to book my ideal carer through the Yoopies."

The event is part of Yoopies’s mission to help families across the UK to connect with the very best child carers in their local area. The platform is one of the largest of its kind in Europe with over 800,000 carers in the UK alone.
