A woman and baby have been taken to a major trauma centre after a crash in Bexleyheath.

Police in Bexley are currently dealing with a serious fail to stop collision.

Emergency services were called to Danson Road at 10.16am to reports that a woman and a child had been involved in a crash with a car.

The Air Ambulance was dispatched but was not needed.

The woman is believed to be in the 50s and the child is 2-years-old.

The collision is believed to have been caused by a car that was being towed breaking free from the tractor unit.

The driver of the tractor unit did not stop at the scene.

An incident response officer, two ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic and two single responders in cars were also sent out.

Danson Road is blocked both ways from Bean Road to Lodge lane and buses are on diversion.

Enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.
