A scooter ride starting in Putney is returning this year to mark Remembrance Day.
For the past 10 years WASPS of London Scooter Club has organised the Ride of Remembrance. Since their first event in 2008, the scooter ride has become one of the biggest organised scooter rides in London, with almost 1,000 riders expected this year.
The ride begins at the Star & Garter Pub, Putney on November 11 at 10am. WASPS will be selling poppy merchandise, special edition patches, badges, and scooter leg shield banners. At 11am there will be a two-minute silence, with a live rendition of the last post.
The ride out will begin at midday and wreaths will be laid at the Royal Artillery Memorial at Hyde Park Corner.
To date WASPS have raised over £50,000 from the Ride of Remembrance. For more information about the day and the club, contact Andy Hilson on 07956998780.
