A second arrest has been made today following the murder of Malcolm Mide-Madariola outside Clapham South underground station last week.

The second suspect, 18, who has not been named, remains in custody at a south London police station on suspicion of murdering the 17 year old college student on November 2.

Another teenage boy, 17, was arrested earlier today also on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at a south London police station.

The murder investigation was launched after Mr Mide-Madariola, 17, was found suffering from a stab wound at the scene.

Police were called at around 4.35pm on November 2 to reports of a stabbing in Balham Hill outside Clapham South station.

Officers and paramedics gave Mr Mide-Madariola emergency first aid before he was taken to a south London hospital, where he died a short time later.

A post-mortem examination will be held today at St George's Hospital Mortuary.

DCI Massey said: "The stabbing in Balham Hill followed an altercation a few minutes earlier involving two small groups of young males near to Clapham South Underground station which at this stage we do not believe was gang-related. However I don't believe anyone involved had travelled on the tube

.

"There were a large number of people present when emergency services arrived at the scene, and although many have come forward, I want to ensure that we have spoken to all potential witnesses.

"If you were in the area and saw anything suspicious - in particular if you saw an altercation or anything suspicious on Friday afternoon near to Clapham South station - then please call the incident room."
