A Barnes grandfather is celebrating 62 years and counting as the owner of a much-loved barbershop.

Archie Louka, 81, moved to England from Cyprus in 1955 for work. He start work at the Barber Shop on White Hart Lane in 1956. He has been there ever since, loving ever moment of it.

Mr Louka said: "I love working in the shop. I still work full-time and it is a great way for me to live. Its next door to me and it has been great to be self-employed for so many years.

"I like socialising with the customer, we have many regulars who like that I have been here for so long. I have been running the shop on my own for most of the years and I still do to this day."

He has kept the shop very much as it has been since the 50s and residents in Barnes keep coming back to Mr Louka to get a hair cut.
