A 12 year-old boy from Epsom has been treading the boards in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical.

Oliver Crouch, who studies acting at Stagecoach Epsom, has been touring theatres across the country and Ireland, playing the roles of Bruce Bogtrotter and Tommy.

Oliver previously starred in the West End version of Matilda as Eric and said he was keen to take up the challenge of the new roles and life with a touring company.

The tour has come to an end, but Oliver has a lot to look forward to as he has just being accepted into the performing arts school Arts Education in Chiswick.

West End actor and musician Kerry Ellis said: “I adore Ollie, not only does his voice blow the roof off, he is one special person, humble and so talented, he really is one to watch out for.”

Stagecoach Epsom principal Rachel Crouch said: “We are so proud of Oliver. He is an all-round amazing student with a truly special voice.

Taking on a tour as large as the RSC’s Matilda is an enormous commitment with a gruelling timetable.

“Ollie seized the opportunity like a true professional and has embraced every second of his experience as Bruce and Tommy.”
