America's most famous Mexican inspired fast-food chain will open its doors to Croydon next week.

Taco Bell, known for its Tex-Mex tacos, burritos and nachos, opens a 45-seat outlet on George street on Wednesday December 19.

The new restaurant will bring over 50 new jobs to the area, with 8 management positions. This opening will be the 34th Taco Bell restaurant in the UK.

Lucy Dee, Brand Manager of Taco Bell, said: “We’re really pleased to be opening a Taco Bell in Croydon and to focus our investment in this area – it’s a place we’ve had our eye on for a while.

"George Street has a high footfall of those looking for entertainment and of course a bite to eat, providing us with the perfect spot to expand our portfolio in the area.

"We look forward to welcoming even more Taco Bell fans and first-timers through our doors.

"To kick off the celebrations in style, we’re giving away a free Taco Bell t-shirt to the first 100 customers through our doors!”

Originally launched in the United States, there are currently more than 425 Taco Bell restaurants across 27 markets outside of the US.

Three other branches are set to open over the next two months in London, where there are currently no Taco Bells.

Taco aficionados will be well aware this isn't the first time the chain has served the capital, as branches operated in London for a period in the 90s.
