A woman has been pronounced dead after a flat fire in Clapham.
Officers were called at 7pm last night (January 26) to Sibella Road to reports a first floor flat was on fire.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus discovered the woman in the flat and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters from Clapham and Brixton fire stations attended the scene and the fire was put out by 8.30pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
