It took a little longer than expected, but what once was the Mitcham Mint will finally reopen with a new look this week.

Owners Star Pubs & Bars and its operators North and South Leisure revealed late last year that the Lilian Road boozer would be refurbished and rebranded as The Vale at Streatham.

As a result, the pub closed temporarily at the start of 2019.

It was initially said the £75,000 redevelopment would be finished in time to reopen on January 25.

But a spokesman for North and South Leisure said the refurb took "a little longer than expected as we encountered delays whilst adding to the project along the way."

But now it has been confirmed that the pub will open its doors to the public once again on February 14.
