A broken down train between Clapham Junction and Wimbledon is expected to cause huge peak hour delays this afternoon.

An engineer is on site and working to rectify the train fault but until this can be done the South Western Railway train will not be able to move forward.

A queue has formed behind the affected train, and other services may be delayed while they are diverted onto other lines.

Additionally, Network Rail, who own and maintain the railway infrastructure, have been advised of a signalling problem in the Queenstown Road area.

Engineers are on site to rectify the problem with the track circuit.

As a result of these two issues, no trains heading away from London will call at Earlsfield as well as Queenstown Road

National Rail expect these delays to last until at least 6om.
