An “adventure golf” course where you can drink cocktails as you play looks set to come to Putney, after permission was granted to keep a former kids’ soft play centre open late.

Jungle Rumble is looking to expand to the location in the High Street, and the group already runs similar courses in Bristol and Leeds, as well as an outdoor course in Brighton.

The existing indoor locations each have two 18-hole courses with (as might be expected from the name) a jungle theme.

They have bars selling cocktails, as well as arcade games punters can use before and after the golf.

The Putney building owners applied to Wandsworth Council, asking for the first floor to be allowed to open until 11pm, in line with Jungle Rumble’s other locations, and officials agreed.

Soft play centre Eddie Catz, the previous occupier, left the premises in late 2018.

The co-founder of a children's soft play company was found to have spied on dozens of women after "stalking" schoolgirls from a swimming lesson.

Former Eddie Catz director Darren Johnson, 51, used "peepholes" to film women in toilets and changing rooms at a centre where parents take their young children to have fun.

Johnson was jailed in for 16 months in August 2018.
