Two men accused of murdering Battersea boxer Ian Tomlin with a baseball bat have appeared in court.

The father of two, 46, was beaten to death outside his home in Charlotte Despard Avenue on October 17 last year.

Gary Beech, 48, and Michael Swan, 45, appeared before The Old Bailey yesterday charged with the death.

Beech, from Battersea and Swan, from Wandsworth, previously denied one count of murder.

They appeared before court as another charge was added to the indictment before the trial begins.

Beech pleaded not guilty to doing an act tending and intended to pervert the course of justice when he allegedly got rid of the baseball bat used to kill lorry driver Ian Tomlin.

The trial has been listed to begin today (April 9).
