A Richmond college footballer has been offered the chance to play for one of London's leading semi-professional clubs.

Norris Obijaku, a student at Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC), will try-out for Haringey Borough FC's Under 23 team, in what he hopes will be the first step towards a career in the beautiful game.

The level 3 Engineer was previously offered a trial at the club, where his skills clearly made an impression.

Ged Searson, who coaches the men’s football team at RuTC, said: “Noris was very mature and focused during the training.

"He chatted and mixed well with players and coaching staff alike and held his own against some very strong and disciplined players.”

Haringey Borough FC play in the Isthmian League, a regional men's football league covering London, East and South East England, featuring mostly semi-professional clubs.

Consisting of 82 teams across four divisions, it forms the seventh and eighth levels of the English football league system.

Haringey Borough FC was established in 1973 and play in a 2,500 capacity ground.
