An inmate at HMP Wandsworth is in hospital after being stabbed in the chest.
Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 3.10pm on June 27 to the prison following reports of an inmate having been attacked.
The victim, a 39-year-old man, was taken to hospital.
A Met spokesman said: "He sustained superficial injuries to his head and a puncture wound to his chest.
"We await a full assessment of his condition."
No arrests have been made at this stage and police remain at the scene with enquiries still ongoing.
