A man who climbed onto the roof of Sutton police station was talked down after "threatening to jump" for two hours last night.
Officers became aware of the man shortly after 9pm, engaging in dialogue with him.
Emergency services attended; a firefighter was seen climbing the building and ambulance staff were seen preparing a stretcher.
He came down at 11.08pm, and was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
An eyewitness said he was "shouting and trying to blackmail police by threatening to jump off the police station."
They added: "Police were seen standing outside the police station after taping it off trying to talk the man down.
"He did not comply and eventually a fireman was seen climbing the side of the police station and some police went inside to try to escort the man in.
"Rapid response Ambulance were also on the scene and were seen preparing a stretcher."
